Short Bio
Charudatta Pathak is an engineer, academic leader, and entrepreneur who, after a distinguished 28-year career spanning academia, industry, and university leadership, founded ENTECH Digital Magazine — a free monthly publication designed to help students in grades 8 through 12 explore and plan careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from SSVPS College of Engineering, Dhule in 1995, launching his career as a CNC programmer working with FANUC, Deckel, Maho, and Mikron controllers. He transitioned to academia in 1996 as a lecturer, earning his post-graduate degree in CAD/CAM from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad in 2000, and his Ph.D. from COEP in 2011. His academic journey has seen him serve as lecturer, assistant professor, professor, dean, principal, director, and vice chancellor at public and private universities across India. Between 2008 and 2010, he served as project lead in the CAE department of a European multinational. ENTECH Digital Magazine, available on entechonline.com and magzter.com, is his answer to a need he identified over decades of teaching: reliable, accessible content for teens passionate about STEM careers.Extended Bio
Charudatta Pathak has lived multiple professional lives — and each one has fed into the next. He has been a CNC programmer hunched over a machine tool, a professor shaping young minds, a project lead in a European corporation, a vice chancellor steering a university, and now the founder of a digital magazine for India's next generation of scientists and engineers. His journey began at St. Aloysius High School in Bhusawal — established in 1874, one of India's oldest convent institutions. This early education, rooted in discipline and intellectual rigor, provided the foundation for his engineering studies at SSVPS College of Engineering, Dhule, where he earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1995. He then stepped directly into industry as a CNC programmer in a toolroom, mastering controllers from FANUC, Deckel, Maho, and Mikron to operate 2-axis and 3-axis machines for fabricating jigs, fixtures, dies, and molds. This hands-on experience gave him something invaluable: an intimate understanding of how things are actually made.In 1996, he shifted to academia, joining SSVPS College of Engineering as a lecturer. This began a parallel journey of learning and teaching that would define his career. He earned his M.E. in CAD/CAM from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad in 2000, and his Ph.D. from COEP in 2011 — all while continuing to teach. For over two decades, he occupied nearly every role an academic can hold: lecturer, assistant professor, professor, dean, principal, director, and vice chancellor at public and private universities throughout India.Between 2008 and 2010, he stepped back into industry as a project lead in the CAE department of a European multinational, bringing his academic expertise into a corporate environment and gaining perspective on how engineering is practiced at the global level.Across all these roles — in the classroom, in the dean's office, in the corporate boardroom — Charudatta noticed something missing. Students in grades 8 through 12 had no reliable, engaging, India-relevant resource for exploring STEM careers. They had textbooks, but textbooks do not talk about career paths. They had entrance exam coaching, but coaching does not talk about what engineers actually do. They had the internet, but the internet is chaotic and often misleading. So he built the solution himself. ENTECH Digital Magazine, launched as a free monthly publication on entechonline.com and magzter.com, is his answer to that gap. It is designed specifically for teens with a strong interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics who aspire to pursue careers in these fields. It covers not just the science, but the career paths, the skills, the role models, and the real-world applications. He writes for the teenager who is curious about engineering but does not know where to start, the parent who wants to guide their child's STEM interests, the teacher looking for supplementary material that inspires, and the young professional who wishes such a resource had existed when they were in school.Primary Beats
